Badung Environment Agency Seals Finns Beach Club Pipe, Wastewater Discovered at Berawa Beach

A joint task force led by the Badung Environment and Sanitation Agency (DLHK) permanently sealed a wastewater discharge pipe belonging to Finns Beach Club in Kuta Utara, Badung, on Sunday, August 2, 2026. The intervention was triggered by community complaints regarding foul odors and suspected pollution streaming into Berawa Beach.

Investigators traced the unauthorized drainage during field verifications conducted on Saturday, August 1, 2026, alongside local village officials and police officers. According to environmental permits, the venue's treated water should be allocated solely for landscape irrigation and recharge wells rather than public drainage channels.

"We discovered multiple pipes leading into culverts and confirmed that one active line originated from the wastewater treatment installation of Finns Beach Club," stated Head of Protocol and Leadership Communication for Badung Regency, I Kadek Edi Putrana.

Following the inspection, officials permanently blocked the illegal outlet using cement to halt further environmental infractions. "We have permanently sealed the discharge pipe with cement, confirmed its ownership, and will continue routine periodic monitoring," explained DLHK Badung Head Made Rai Warastuthi.

The regency government has issued a written reprimand giving the business 14 days to rectify operations, with potential sanctions escalating to operational license freezes if compliance fails.
