Jim Cramer Says Amazon Changed Wall Street's Mind On Big Tech AI Spending

CNBC host Jim Cramer announced on Monday that Amazon CEO Andy Jassy successfully transformed Wall Street's skepticism regarding massive artificial intelligence spending. By clearly explaining long-term data center monetization, Jassy drove Amazon's stock to its biggest one-day gain in over a decade.

CNBC "Mad Money" host Jim Cramer stated on Monday that Amazon CEO Andy Jassy fundamentally shifted how Wall Street evaluates massive artificial intelligence investments. Prior to Jassy's detailed earnings call presentation, financial markets remained deeply skeptical regarding how megacap technology companies allocated capital.

Jassy justified raising Amazon's capital expenditure budget from $200 billion to $220 billion by breaking down exact return timelines for data centers. He explained that once facilities launch with servers installed, they generate revenue almost immediately and yield returns for over thirty years.

"Until Jassy spoke, the market seemed highly skeptical of how these megacap tech companies were spending money, but that is no longer the case," said Cramer during his broadcast.

Cramer contrasted Amazon's success with the performance of its tech peers, noting that Alphabet shares fell after management failed to clearly articulate future returns. Meanwhile, Microsoft avoided intense scrutiny by maintaining positive free cash flow and monetizing its investments through Azure and Copilot subscriptions.

Amazon's stock surged to its biggest one-day gain in over a decade following the earnings call, proving that transparent capital allocation directly drives investor confidence.
