Manuel Neuer Confirms Retirement, Bayern Legend Eyes 2027 Exit
Bayern Munich and Germany legend Manuel Neuer has confirmed that his illustrious career is likely reaching its final chapter, as the veteran goalkeeper expects to retire when his current contract expires in 2027.
Neuer has fundamentally redefined the modern "sweeper-keeper" role throughout his decades-long career, earning numerous domestic and international accolades with both club and country.
"I expect that this will likely be my final chapter," admitted the veteran goalkeeper regarding his impending retirement timeline.
Football analysts note that replacing a generational talent of Neuer's caliber will present a monumental challenge for both Bayern Munich and the German national team.
Neuer will spend his final seasons competing at the highest level in the UEFA Champions League before stepping away permanently from professional football in 2027.
