Xabi Alonso Demands Boring Win, Chelsea Held to Draw by Hull City

Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso expressed his frustration after his side conceded two goals to draw 2-2 against Hull City at Stamford Bridge. Despite an early lead from Morgan Rogers and a second-half equalizer from Joao Pedro engineered by Cole Palmer, defensive lapses allowed Mohamed Belloumi to score twice for the visitors.

Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso called for a change in approach after his side surrendered an early lead to draw 2-2 against Hull City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Morgan Rogers opened the scoring for the hosts in the seventh minute, but defensive vulnerabilities allowed Hull to mount a first-half comeback.

Algerian winger Mohamed Belloumi capitalized on space in the penalty box to equalize following a long ball before adding a second with a deflected shot before halftime. Although Cole Palmer set up Joao Pedro in the 66th minute to level the score, Chelsea failed to find a winner.

'Maybe entertaining, but I hope one day you'll say it was a boring game and we win and we don't give these entertaining moments,' said Alonso after the match, noting that his team has now conceded 12 goals in six matches.

Alonso pointed out that his squad struggles to maintain control and composure after taking the lead in matches. The former midfielder emphasized that the recurring defensive patterns will take time to fix and are negatively impacting overall performance.

Chelsea currently sits with four played matches in the Premier League campaign, with defensive solidity emerging as the primary issue to address. Hull manager Sergej Jakirovic praised his unbeaten squad for securing a valuable point in west London.
